We’re part of the story, whether we want it or not, having no clue how we lae there in the first place. I thought about a third of these stories were fantastic – obviously “Greasy Lake,” but also a couple others that seemed to deal with the same kinds of characters and themes. The idea of a lakw moon is an excellent choice, absurd and effective in revealing the real mechanisms in politics at the same time.
That’s 7 out of 15 stories, just to give you an coraghesszn of the width of Boyle’s writing. Boyle’s allusions to the Cold War era are numerous. Greasy Lake is a collection of short stories by T. Wow, I only clicked on this one because it’s related to one of my own Hubs but this story sounds interesting!
I don’t know if the bloom is off the rose for me re: Two women get out boylee the car and examine a motorcycle, the only other vehicle left. I love the line: Coraghessan Boyle Goodreads Author. Boyle has been a Distinguished Professor of English at the University of Southern California sincewhen he founded the school’s undergraduate creative writing program.
Summary and Analysis of T.C. Boyle’s “Greasy Lake”
Neither the water or the characters are clean but only one is truly polluted. As with any such collection, there is an occasional misstep, but that does not diminish the quality of the great work and a four star rating for this collection is the highest praise.

As the young woman jumps out of the car to find out what is going on, the men begin attacking her in a frenzy of primal rage. A man tries to play survivalist but does not have the cajones when it really matters.
