On sex – In intial pages, he boasted like having physical relations with women of many diffrent nationalities. On religion, he says that he has always been agnostic but has read the religious texts of the major religions and finds a lot of things in them profound, interesting and meaningful. He also candidly states that it was LK Advani’s Rath Yatra that set the forces in motion for the rising Islamophobia and divisive politics.

It is worth giving time. Khushwant recounts all these through his eyes and he does not round off the edges of his words khuushwant are decisive and sharp enough to cut. The language is simple and one can finish this book in a reading or two.
The amount borrowed was just two lakhs, to hire taxis that were needed for the election campaign. It seems like he just writes down his thoughts word to word. Singh’s criticism at its best. Having meeting with presidents of many countries, his hideout at the time of’sikh dunge’, and many more.
He tells us what makes him tick and the secret of his longevity; he confesses his deepest fears and what he holds dear.
